Submission Guidelines

Within this conference, the Organizer encourages the participants to submit abstract and further present their poster presentations on the relevant thematic sessions. All presented abstract and posters will be published under ISBN Book Publication.

The abstract submitted in this conference shall align with the thematic session topics and must be original and novel. The Organizer encourages rigorous and innovative abstract to be submitted. Abstract that consists of best-practices research and/or project implementation are also welcomed.

Abstract submission guideline:

  • Structured long abstract with 1.000 words limit (excluding keywords and reference).
  • Abstract should clearly state background, research question, framework and methodology, main findings, keywords, conclusion, and reference.
  • Abstract should be submitted in Microsoft Word only (.doc or .docx format)
  • Submitted by the latest June 25, 2021.

Presenters with accepted abstract are obliged:

  1. to submit a one-page poster PDF by July 23, 2021;
  2. to pre-record a presentation in Zoom platform with the Organizer between July 26 – August 6, 2021; and
  3. to participate in live QnA discussion session on September 7-9, 2021 with participants in their relevant session of Forced Displacement and Urban Conference 2021.

The Poster PDF, Pre-recording presentation, and Zoom link for live QnA discussion will all be available in https://conference.rdiuref.org/program/ within the relevant session on 1-15 September 2021.

Poster PDF Requirements

  • All poster presenters should submit a one-pager poster PDF by the latest on July 23rd 2021.
  • Poster PDF shall be submitted to our website by providing the Organizer a shared link of your Poster PDF in any open storage, such as Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox.
  • Name the Poster PDF in your open storage using “FDUMC2021_Poster_Your Name”
  • There is no specific template of poster PDF, however, the size of the poster should be A0 (84.1 x 118.9 cm or 33.11 x 46.81 in)

Pre-recording Presentation

  • This is a brief presentation by the poster presenters to promote and encourage the participants to check and read their posters. Pre-recording presentation will be recorded together with the Organizer in Zoom Platform.
  • While poster presenters are submitting the poster through our website, poster presenters should choose one available schedule to do the pre-recording presentation with the Organizer.
  • During the agreed schedule of pre-recording, the presenter should:
    • Present a maximum of 3 slides power point presentation within a maximum of 5 minutes time frame.
    • Emphasize why your posters are significant and important.
    • Not explain the whole poster PDF content, however, poster presenters could provide a teaser or sneak peak of what’s interesting within your poster presentation.
    • Wear a proper attire and present themselves with plain background.

Live QnA Discussion Session

  • This live session will accommodate only the QnA and discussion session with the understanding that the participants have accessed the posters available in the website. 
  • Within this session, poster presenters will focus on answering the questions given by both the moderator and participants.
